1 package pizza dough
– 1 cup your favorite pizza sauce (plus a little more for dipping)
– 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
– 1/2 cup pepperoni slices, finely chopped
– 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
– 2 tablespoons melted butter
– A pinch of garlic powder
– Additional toppings as desired (mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, etc.), finely chopped
– Cornmeal or flour for dusting
Instructions:
1. Start by preheating Bake the oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a baking sheet or sprinkle it with a whisper of cornmeal or flour.
2. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface until it is about 1/4 inch thick. If you’re overcome with nostalgia and find yourself blowing some flour from your hands like it’s snowfall, you’re doing it right.
3. Spread the pizza sauce over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges to prevent a mess.
4. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella evenly over the sauce and add the chopped pepperoni, along with any other toppings you fancy.
5. Carefully roll the dough into a log, starting with the long side. It should remind you how to roll a homemade jelly roll.
6. Cut the log into 1-inch sections and place each roll cut side down on the prepared baking sheet. Pat them, like wishing a well-loved quilt was in its final place.

7. Mix melted butter with a pinch of garlic powder and Italian seasoning; Spread this mixture over the buns for that frosting as golden as fall in the Midwest.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, until they have puffed and turned a beautiful golden colour.
Variations and Tips:
Now, for an extra kick, you can swap out the pepperoni for cooked sausage, or add a handful of diced green peppers and onions for a little crunch and bite. And if you’re craving a little adventure, a pinch of crushed red pepper inside those rolls will add a touch spicier than a mid-July afternoon.
One thing my years of cooking have taught me is that the best tool in your kitchen is a pinch of creativity, so don’t be afraid to play with flavors and fillings. Wrap these rolls with love and there you have it, a delicious bite that is sure to gather people around the table faster than a dinner call. Happy baking, darlings.
