Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Make the Hamburger Steaks:

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
Shape the mixture into 4-6 patties.

Brown the Steaks:

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
Brown the patties on both sides, then transfer them to the prepared baking dish.

Make the Sauce:

In the same skillet, sauté the sliced onion and minced garlic until softened.
Add the cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, thyme (if using), salt, and pepper.

Simmer for 2-3 minutes until heated through.

Assemble the Bake:

Pour the sauce over the hamburger steaks in the baking dish. Cover with foil.

Bake:

Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the steaks are cooked through (internal temperature of 160°F) and the sauce is bubbling.

Serve:

Let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving. Enjoy with mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles!
Feel free to adjust any ingredients or instructions as needed. Enjoy sharing this delicious dish!
