1 large sweet or yellow onion, thickly sliced into 1/2-inch thick rings

1 cup milk

1 Tbsp white vinegar

1/2 cup sour cream

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 Tbsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

Oil for frying, I used canola oil – use something with a high smoke point
