OKLAHOMA NUT CANDY

INGREDIENTS
6 cups sugar, divided
2 cups heavy cream
½ cup unsalted butter
¼ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 ½ cups chopped walnuts or pecan

Grease a 9×13 baking dish and set aside.
In a small saucepan (with a heavy bottom if you have it!), pour in 2 cups of sugar and cook over low heat while stirring often. Cook until sugar is completely melted, about 20 minutes.
