SLOW COOKER GOLDEN SYRUP SPONGE
4oz caster sugar
4oz self raising flour
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cream margarine, sugar & vanilla extract
Add 2 eggs and beat well
Sieve flour and fold in well
Lightly grease a pyrex bowl
Pour a generous helping of golden syrup in the bottom of pyrex bowl
Add cake mixture
Fill slow cooker half way up the bowl with water
Put either kitchen towel or tea towel under lid
Cook on high for 2 hours.
Indulge with custard.
